Evaluation of short-term continence training forums for health professionals
Michael Janssen, Catriona Bastian
This article presents data from an evaluation of the continence training forum for health professionals Every Body’s Business held on 5 March 2008 in Canberra, ACT. The primary purpose of the evaluation was to determine the effectiveness of the training event and to guide improvement of the training model. The participants were tested at three stages (before, immediately after and 3 months after the forum) using an evaluation tool recently developed by the Continence Foundation of Australia 1. A secondary purpose of the evaluation was to test the tool. The results showed improvement between the pre-test and post-test results and that there was evidence to suggest this improvement was sustained at the follow-up test 3 months after the forum. The tool appears to be effective in measuring the effectiveness of short-term continence training events for health professionals.
